What services does Incise Services offer?

We offer a comprehensive range of services including financial statements, accounting and bookkeeping, tax registrations and returns, VAT/PAYE/UIF/COIDA compliance, SARS queries and dispute resolution, CIPC compliance, payroll administration, business advisory, management accounts, and letters and certificates for banks and tenders.

Do I need to register for VAT?

VAT registration is compulsory once your taxable turnover exceeds R2.3 million in any consecutive 12-month period. Voluntary registration is available from R50,000. We can assess your situation and handle the full registration process with SARS on your behalf.

When are tax returns due in South Africa?

Individual tax returns are typically due between July and October each year (eFiling deadline). Companies must submit within 12 months of their financial year-end. We track all deadlines for our clients and ensure timely submission to avoid penalties.

What records should I keep for SARS?

SARS requires you to keep records for a minimum of 5 years. These include invoices, receipts, bank statements, payroll records, and any supporting documents for income and expenses. We advise all our clients on proper record-keeping from the start.

What is the difference between a bookkeeper and an accountant?

A bookkeeper records day-to-day financial transactions, while a Chartered Accountant interprets, analyses, and reports on financial data, advises on tax strategy, and ensures full statutory compliance. At Incise Services, we provide both functions under one roof.

How do I register a new company in South Africa?

Companies are registered with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC). We handle the full registration process, including choosing the right company structure, CIPC submission, and follow-up tax registrations with SARS.

What happens if I receive a SARS query or audit?

Don’t panic β€” SARS queries are common and manageable with the right support. We handle all correspondence with SARS on your behalf, prepare the required supporting documentation, and represent you through objections and appeals if necessary.
